Crosslist from eBay to Depop

Depop is description-first: no title box, a 1,000-character description with up to five hashtags, and 8 photos. Its browse tags (Source, Age, Style) and clothing details take the place of eBay’s item specifics.

  • No title on Depop
  • 24 photos on eBay, 8 on Depop
  • No selling fee for US sellers

By hand

How to move a listing from eBay to Depop, step by step

  1. Pick your best 8 photos

Depop takes 8, in slots for cover, front, back, side, label, detail and flaw.

  2. Turn the title and description into one

Lead with your eBay title’s keywords, then the details, within 1,000 characters and at most 5 hashtags.

  3. Pick the category and size

Department, category and type, then the size from Depop’s list for that type.

  4. Move the item specifics

Brand and up to 2 colors have their own boxes; Material (up to 4), Occasion and Body fit cover more of what eBay’s item specifics held.

  5. Add Source, Age and Style

Depop’s browse tags: Source (up to 2), Age (1) and Style (up to 3, such as Streetwear, Sportswear, Loungewear).

  6. Package size and price

Pick the smallest package size your packed item fits, up to Extra large (under 10 lb). Depop is fixed price: no auctions.

  7. When it sells, end the other listing

As soon as it sells on eBay or Depop, end or delete the listing on the other store, so a second buyer can’t pay for an item you no longer have.

Watch out

What trips people up

  • Depop’s largest package size is under 10 lb.
  • eBay’s condition notes have no Depop box: put the flaw in the description and a photo in the Flaw slot.
  • Depop’s Boost is optional and costs 12% only if the item sells.

With MagicListr

One listing fills both forms

Write the item once, and MagicListr fills in each store’s own form for you.

On eBay: eBay’s category and the item specifics it asks for, the condition in eBay’s words with any flaws in the condition notes, and the package weight and size.

On Depop: Depop’s description-first version with hashtags within its limit, its category and size, its Source, Age and Style tags, and the package size from your package weight.

When it sells on one, it comes down from the other. Sold on eBay? MagicListr takes it down from Depop. Sold on Depop? MagicListr ends the eBay listing.
