How it’s worked out

The same sale on each store

• Each store’s standard fees for a US seller: eBay’s rate for most categories, Whatnot’s Standard tier, Facebook with shipping, Grailed to a US buyer, and nothing promoted, boosted or advertised. Each store’s own calculator has those options.
• StockX, GOAT, Amazon and Vestiaire Collective aren’t in the table: their fees depend on your seller level, rating, category or plan, and on Vestiaire and the sneaker stores the buyer’s shipping never reaches you. Their own calculators below have every option.
• When the buyer pays shipping, it goes to you and you buy the label, so stores that charge fees on shipping charge them on it. On Poshmark and Vinted the buyer pays shipping to the store, so it doesn’t pass through you.
• When you pay shipping, the label cost comes off your profit on every store.
• Sales tax is collected by the store; some charge part of their fee on it, so add your buyer’s rate for an exact number.

• eBay

  In most categories eBay takes 13.6% of the total sale (item, shipping and sales tax) plus $0.40 per order. Enter your sale to see what you keep.

• Poshmark

  Poshmark takes a flat $2.95 on sales under $15 and 20% on sales of $15 or more. The buyer pays for shipping.

• Mercari

  Mercari charges sellers 10% of the item price plus any shipping the buyer pays. Listing is free, and there’s no separate payment processing fee.

• Depop

  US sellers pay no Depop selling fee, just payment processing: 3.3% + $0.45 on each sale (item, shipping and tax). Boosted listings add 12% when they sell.

• Etsy

  Etsy charges $0.20 to list, 6.5% of the item price and shipping when it sells, and 3% + $0.25 for payment processing with a US bank account. Offsite Ads can add 12% or 15%.

• Facebook Marketplace

  When you sell with shipping, Facebook takes 10% of the total (item, shipping and tax), or $0.80 if that’s more.

• Whatnot

  Whatnot’s commission is 8% of the item price in most categories (4% for coins) and drops as your four-week sales grow. Payment processing is 2.9% + $0.30 on the whole order.

• Vinted

  Vinted charges no fees for selling: the price your buyer pays for the item is what you’re paid.

• Grailed

  Grailed takes 9% commission on sales of $120 or more and 6% (at least $1.99) under $120, plus 3.49% + $0.49 payment processing on a US order.

• Vestiaire Collective

  For US sellers, Vestiaire Collective takes a flat $12 on items under $75 and 17% from $75 to $15,000, plus 3% payment processing (at least $3). Shipping is on Vestiaire’s prepaid label.

• StockX

  New StockX sellers pay a 9% transaction fee and 3% payment processing on the sale price, plus a $5 shipping fee in the US. The transaction fee drops as your seller level rises.

• GOAT

  GOAT takes 9.5% commission plus a $5 seller fee when you ship on its prepaid label in the US, and 2.9% when you cash out to your bank or PayPal.

• Amazon

  Amazon takes a referral fee on each sale, 15% of the item and shipping in most categories (17% for clothing over $20), plus $0.99 per item on the Individual plan. These are the fees when you ship orders yourself.
