The words match, but not the meanings: Mercari’s Like new is for unused items, while Poshmark’s Like New also covers items worn once or twice. Mercari also has Poor, which Poshmark doesn’t.

How to move a listing from Poshmark to Mercari, step by step
Pick your best 12 photos
Poshmark takes 16; Mercari takes 12. Keep the label, the flaws and the measurements.
Copy the title and description
Both titles take 80 characters. Mercari’s description holds 1,000 characters to Poshmark’s 1,500, so trim a long one.
Pick the category and size
Mercari’s three category levels, then its size for that category, written like “M (8-10)”.
Pick the brand from Mercari’s list
Mercari doesn’t take typed brands. If yours isn’t listed, choose “No brand / Not sure” and keep the brand in your title and description.
Choose the condition
Use the table above, reading Mercari’s line under each choice.
Set up shipping
Choose a prepaid label or Ship on your own, answer “Offer buyers free shipping?”, and enter the packed weight. Poshmark’s flat buyer-paid label doesn’t carry over.
Price it
Mercari takes $1 to $2,000. Smart pricing is optional: it lowers your price over time toward a minimum you set.
When it sells, end the other listing
As soon as it sells on Poshmark or Mercari, end or delete the listing on the other store, so a second buyer can’t pay for an item you no longer have.
Watch out
What trips people up
- Mercari has no color box and no style tags. Put the color and the style words buyers search for in the title or description.
- If you offer free shipping on Mercari, the label comes out of your earnings; if the buyer pays, Mercari’s 10% also applies to that shipping.
- Mercari’s shipping tip: if your package is heavier than the label’s weight, you’re charged the difference. Weigh it packed.
