Whatnot fees in 2026, in plain words
- Commission is on the item’s sale price only. Shipping and tax the buyer pays aren’t included.
- Your rate depends on the category (of the show, for live sales; of the product, for marketplace sales) and on your tier. Since September 21, 2026, your total sales in each four-week period set your tier for the next one.
- Payment processing (US): 2.9% + $0.30 per order, on everything the buyer pays: item, shipping and tax. Lower commission tiers don’t change it.
- High-value orders: in some categories (Comics & Anime, Toys & Hobbies, Coins & Money, Trading Card Games, Entertainment Cards, Sports Singles, Bags & Accessories, and Jewelry & Watches), Whatnot charges 0% commission on the part of an item’s price over $1,500. Whatnot calls this a limited-time promotion.
- Promotions, such as 0% for new sellers, replace your rate while they run.

What does Whatnot charge a new seller?

Does Whatnot take commission on shipping?
No. Commission is on the item price only. Payment processing (2.9% + $0.30) does cover shipping and tax.
How do I get a lower Whatnot rate?
Sell more in a four-week period. Your total sales across every category set your tier for the next period, and higher tiers have lower commission. There’s nothing to apply for.
